ELECTRIC YOUTH began as a large musical theater ensemble and a trip to Vienna in 1998. Following more than a decade of European tours and domestic performances, ELECTRIC YOUTH has become the dynamic group of talented singer-dancers you see today.
Accompanied by a show band of world class musicians, Electric Youth has toured Europe nine times since 1998, and entertained aboard Royal Caribbean's Oasis of the Seas in 2011. They are currently preparing for their first tour in Asia in summer, 2013...stay tuned!
Electric Youth assumes the role of ambassadors of America’s youth during their time overseas. The EY experience provides superlative professional performance and touring opportunities. Trained exclusively at the Franklin School for the Performing Arts, Electric Youth members are selected each year by audition.
Electric Youth has played such European venues as elegant theaters, embassies, outdoor concert stages in cities and resort towns, as well as American military bases. Their shows have been enthusiastically received at Vienna’s Schonbrunn Palace, Konzerthaus, Theater Akzent and Musikverein as well as San Remo’s Ariston Theater, Villa Manin, Montecatini and Lake Como in Italy!
In addition to their international appearances, Electric Youth has performed twice on Fox 25 Television, at the Democratic National Convention and the Life Is Good Festival in Boston, and they have sung the national anthem for the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park. Local show venues include Showcase Live at Patriot Place, the Plaza at Gillette Stadium and Worcester’s renowned Mechanics Hall.
Through the years, Electric Youth has recorded six CDs. Their two most recent recordings, Direct Current and All Amped Up, are available on CD Baby and other indie sites.
