2010 Electric Youth, Jill ~ Age 18

I began my life at FSPA by enrolling in tap class at the age of five. As the years went on, I couldn’t help but be a part of every class the school offered, such as tap, jazz, ballet, modern, hip-hop, acting, voice, performing troupes and Electric Youth. I grew up watching my older brother Dan perform in Electric Youth, and while watching the shows I knew that I wanted to someday do the same. Sure enough, in 2007, I auditioned and made it! I embarked on my first European tour, to be followed by a second the following year. The Electric Youth tours were the most amazing, life changing experiences. My favorite venues were Obergrafendorf and Bibione Square because the audiences were incredibly enthusiastic and appreciative. My favorite songs to perform are “Mony Mony” and the Beatles “Across the Universe” medley. Being a part of Electric Youth gives me an amazing sense of friendship and member of a team. It is so rewarding when I can look out and see thousands of cheering fans while performing at spectacular venues in Europe. Electric Youth has not only improved my performance abilities, but has given me unique experiences with travel, meeting new people, and dedicating myself to what I love to do. My funniest memory of the 2008 tour was performing “Lignano Ciao” in honor of our Italian promoter. He surprised us by jumping up on stage, leaping, twirling and dancing all around. It was almost impossible to control our laughter during this hilarious moment on stage. In the future, I hope to attend a college that offers me the opportunity to continue the performing arts while majoring in speech and language disorders.
